Delay in Part Two - my apologies!

Dear Scribblers

I am so sorry, but due to illness, I'm afraid I won't be able to upload the part 2 instalment of Unexpected Crafting aka The Chanel Hassle today. TheCraftyScribe household has been hit with a norovirus-type bug, and it hasn't been pretty! Therefore, I haven't been in a fit state to write. Many apologies.

Hopefully, I'll be back to normal by the end of the week, so keep your peepers peeled 👀 for Part 2 on Saturday. I aim to get it written and uploaded by then.

Keep well and warm, my Scribbler friends.

Happy Scribing!

NaNoWriMo Day 13 - The Up's and Down's

Dear Scribblers

It's been a tough time, for a couple of days, you'll see my word count dropped as I wasn't particularly well, and so I've been fighting over the last two days to recover, and I've done it.

My total word count at the moment is 27657! I'm pretty pleased with that.

Here's how it's been broken down.

Day 8 - 2669

Day 9 - 2443

Day 10 - 1250

Day 11 - 1318

Days 12 and 13 - written together as it was a section of the story, I didn't want to separate - 4392

As you can see, it's been a far old up and down, with that major drop in the centre. It goes to show though that you can recover it, if you want to. Having a block of time of at least two or three hours, to sit and churn out the sentences really helped.

I know that this up coming week will probably go the same way, as I'm going to be away from my computer for long periods, as we won't be at home, and I also won't have time to write. I'll be out for two days celebrating my birthday! I'm glad I've got Scrivener on my iPhone, as I'll try and get some writing done whilst we are travelling. Oh, that note, I must remember to take my phone charger and power bank with me! Thanks for the reminder, Scribblers!

Happy Scribing!

Lessons Learnt - 2 - Life is a Roller-coaster!

Dear Scribblers

Here's the second page I'd like to share with you from Shimelle's Learn Something New Everyday course in September 2011. I hope you'll understand if I write it as LSNED from now on.

This is the double layout for each day that I explained in yesterday's post. I was a little nervous about tackling what was 18x11 inches of blank space each day, but going about it as an art journal, instead of what would be almost a standard 12x12 scrapbook page with another half (6inch width) tacked onto the side, I found it easier to think about. If you get my meaning. That would be an enormous amount of space for me to scrapbook with layer papers, but with paints and art journal freedom... not so much. It seemed to be the right amount.

The extra length meant I could tackle ideas like this one! My life as a rollercoaster. The journalling reads, "I learnt that when you deal with pain on a daily basis, Life truly is a rollercoaster! The best way to cope is to relax, take the dips as you take the highs and remember... always remember to ENJOY THE RIDE!"

I used watercolour paints again, with Whispers Strokes watercolour and permanent double-ended pens (used a lot on the whole LSNED project), Cosmos Cricket letter stickers, and the rollercoaster framework is thin black ribbon.

The Crafty Scribe Communiqué - Poorly Girl

News Flash... Communiqué... News Flash...

Dear Scribblers

I know! I know! I promised that the Scrapbooking and Journalling Prompts would return with a vengeance. I posted Prompt 131 and 132 then... BAM! I was hit with the dreaded lurgy! Actually, very poorly with the NoroVirus and couldn't even lift my head off the pillow, let alone type on my laptop. Not good and I'm sure you don't want to know the details. That would be a share too far.

Never fear, I'm better now and catching up on my long, long to-do list. The prompts will be back soon. Thank you for sticking with me.

In the meantime...
Happy Scribing!

Scrapbooking and Journalling Your Own History Part 15 - Illness

Dear Scribblers

None of us like to be ill, but unfortunately these days are part of life too. So remember these moments of your life, as they are part of your history.

Illness
What childhood illnesses did you have? How long were you off school? Who looked after you? How did you recover?
Have you had any other illnesses or operations? Why? Which hospitals did you attend? Who were your doctors?
Remember your 3Ds (Description, Date, Details), What, Where, When, Who, How, Why and Senses: Sight, Smell, Touch, Taste and Sounds. Take your time, and choose what is relevant to you. For further details about how to use these questions, please see Part 1 and 2 of this project.

Happy Scribing!
