Scrapbooking and Journalling Your Own History Part 2 - Thinking

Dear Scribblers
Over the next few posts I’ll be offering questions to you to think about, which you can use to begin to collect ideas and memories to add to your budding book.
I will be looking at a section of your life at a time. First, I would like you to sit back with a cup of tea or coffee, and just think. Let your mind wander and see what comes to mind. Jot down or doddle anything that comes to mind. Even if you don’t think it’s relevant right at that time, it may be useful for a future page.
If you’ve been following my journalling prompts over the previous weeks, you’ve probably been thinking like this anyway. Remember, any pages you’ve made using the prompts, you can add to this larger project.
See, there is method to my madness.
If you have any photographs from this era of your life, it would be a good idea to dig them out now, and use them as prompts to fill in further details. Seeing old faces and place can trigger deeper memories.
Remember, your 3Ds (Description, Date, Details), What, Where, When, Who, How, Why (see previous posts).
Also consider all your senses. Can you remember colours, tastes, smells from this time? Think Sight, Smell, Touch, Taste and Sounds.
If you can’t remember any details from this time, do you have a friend or family member who could help? Take your conversations down memory lane, you never know which door you may end up at.
If you can’t remember, don’t force it. Move on to another question, or put the whole thing away for another time. It’s often when you are doing other tasks, that your thoughts may bubble up the answers you are looking for. Memory is funny that way.
The whole point of this is to have fun, and celebrate your life. Don’t make it difficult for yourself.
Each of the next set of blog entries will all be a list of questions for you to consider. Use they as you will. Do worry, you don’t need to answer them all, just pick and choose the ones you feel you want to. These are all just jumping off points for you to think about in creating your own history pages. If you have any further inspirational questions which you think other Scribblers would like to answer, please add them to the comment page.
Project of the Day: Your project today is to go and have your favourite beverage and enjoy it! There’s time for work later. Look after yourself!

LSNED - Final Thoughts

Dear Scribblers

So, we are well into the new month, which has given me time to reflect on Shimelle's Learn Something New Everyday course.

On the last day, we were asked to consider what we had learnt over the entire month. This was my final thoughts.

The course makes you look at the details of your life, to embrace and celebrate life. I would recommend this course to all crafters looking to try something different. Why don't you join in next September?

Happy Scribing!

P.S. Have you remembered today's Project of the Day? It's the 10/10/10. Take a photo at 10:10. Please see yesterday's post for more details.

Interpretation with LSNED

Dear Scribblers

How do you use the papers and embellishments you are going to use? Do you choose the photo first, and then the papers? Or the other way round? What about if you are doing a series like this, and you've limited your colour palette, how do you add interpretation to your page?

For example, I already had my colours set, and the photo and title ready for my layout below. I thought to myself, what can I add to bring it all together?

I thought about the picture of the clear sky. I thought about the title of blue sky thinking. What did that remind me of? Of course...

Thoughts on Moments with LSNED and Poems

Dear Scribblers

Today on my other blog, My Year as a Poet, I've been thinking about how things change. As life moves on you need to remember and enjoy each day. Take for example, this digital page I completed for LSNED.

We were sitting in the right spot, at the right time to watch the festa fireworks explode over the buildings. Then pow! Caught a fabulous shot to boot. Life should be filled with moments like this. Remember to appreciate them.

As well as using Shimelle and The Queen of Quirks kits. The firework digital stamp is from the Home of the Brave kit by Sande Krieger.

Two Projects of the Day - That other form of poetic quotes... music lyrics

Dear Scribblers

Just a quick message today, as a thought passed through my brain. Well, actually, music lyrics are going through my brain, and apt ones at that!

I can't get the chorus from 'Where Do You Go To My Lovely' by Peter Sarstedt out of my head! You know the line:
"Where Do You Go To My Lovely/When Your Alone in Your Bed/Tell Me The Thoughts That Surround You/I Want To Look Inside Your Head."
I love the lyrics of the whole of the song, and of course, it got me thinking...

Project of the Day 1 - What song lyrics stick with you? Create a project based on the lyrics, and why they resonate with you. Create a list of favourite lyrics. Or use lyrics to create a title for your page about another subject.

Project of the Day 2 - I Want To Look Inside Your Head! What's going on inside your mind today? Make an impromptu page in your own style. Collage works well for this. See what pops up.

Happy Scribing!
