Lessons Learnt - 4 - Olympics & Oscar Pistorius

Dear Scribblers

With the Olympics and Paralympics coming up on us as fast as Oscar Pistorius, I thought I would share a LSNED page that is based on a quote from that fabulous South African sportsman who is also known by the awesome name of 'The Blade Runner!'

His quote is: "A loser isn't the one who comes last in the race. The loser is the one who sits in the stands and watches."
This isn't just a quote for sports and games. It's to remind you to get involved in life, remember to participate in each day, don't just sit on the sidelines and watch your time go by.

I painted the page in a pale green, then added the Olympic rings, although most of this became covered up. I used artist trading card sized papers with game-type images on them and splattered the whole lot with more paint, before adding the mat and layered sheets. I'd printed out the words on the printed paper using the computer, picking a sporty 'American Football' style font. The day, number and trophy clipboard tags were added along with a lot of glitter.

Scrapbooking and Journalling Your Own History Part 18 - Sport and Hobbies

Dear Scribblers

Sport and Hobbies
What was the first sport you played?
Do you like sport?
What is your favourite sport at school/as an adult?
What teams do you support?
What games do you play/watch?
What was your first hobby?
Do you collect anything?
What is your favourite hobby? How long have you been doing it? Where do you go? What do you do? Are other people involved?
Remember your 3Ds (Description, Date, Details), What, Where, When, Who, How, Why and Senses: Sight, Smell, Touch, Taste and Sounds. Take your time, and choose what is relevant to you. For further details about how to use these questions, please see Part 1 and 2 of this project.

The Crafty Scribe Communiqué - Sport, Sport... and More Sport! Project of the Day

Communiqué - News Flash

Dear Scribblers

Desire it or dread it, sport is everywhere you look at the moment. Even more so today! So, what are you going to do?

Project of the Day -
If You Adore Sport -
Watch your favourite sport today. Is it football? Is it tennis? Or something else? Are you watching or playing?

Create a page illustrating your love of all things active. You might even want to take photos of your family in front of the television, or playing their beloved sport. Add the final score to the page. Get some quotes from those around you, or if the sporting star says something funny, emotional or just plain clichéd, include that too. If you are scrapbooking, don't forget to add memorabilia.

If You Abhor Sport -
You can either complete a page like the one above, if your family are into the competitions. Photograph the pain and pleasure on their faces as they intently watch. Just don't get in the way of the television! Or you could complete a page on why you dislike a particular sport. Have fun with it! Give it a cheeky title such as: 'Sport Spoils', 'Sick as a Parrot!', 'Nets? Get Knotted!' or 'Bored with Balls!'

OR
Run away from the World Cup or Wimbledon totally. Shut yourself away with your creative goodies, and craft, write, design and create. Bliss!

Happy Scribing!
